Position Summary:

In alignment with the Statler Hotel’s mission to be "The Premier Hotel That Teaches," the Learning & Development Manager provides overall leadership, coordination, and support for training and development for the hotel’s stakeholders including management, regular, temporary, and student staff, and community members.

As a member of Statler Hotel’s Meetings & Events management team, be responsible for assisting with supervising operations during shift. Duties include: event setup, event execution, guest client satisfaction, event breakdown, staff management, supporting the hotel’s teaching mission and assisting other duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and well-being.
  • Demonstrated skill with understanding of cultural differences.
  • Proven experience connecting diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing practices to business goals.
  • 3 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic individual with a professional demeanor and superior customer service skills, indicative of a AAA-rated Four Diamond hotel.
  • The candidate must have the potential to develop effective leadership and supervisory skills and style and must have the ability to assist with the training, coaching, and mentoring of college students in an experiential learning environment.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and have a solid grasp of computer skills, ideally with proficiency in hotel information systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field
  • TIPS or Serve Safe training certification preferred.
  • Basic bartending and wine service experience preferred.
