Specialist, Academic Support
- Serve as a primary academic advisor for assigned students.
- Provide academic coaching to student-athletes to develop organizational skills, time management, exam preparation strategies, and academic planning skills.
- Respond to alerts, messages, and requests from various systems and partners (e.g., retention alerts, faculty academic updates).
- Meet with students individually in person, virtually, or by phone.
- Monitor and track student-athletes' academic performance through ongoing review of grades and progress reports.
- Review and analyze data and reports to evaluate practices and provide targeted support for student-athletes.
- Develop and coordinate training and development schedules, including tutoring, technology resources, study hall, and other daily functions within athletic academic support centers.
- Identify, design, and implement learning initiatives for at-risk student-athletes.
- Collaborate with campus partners as needed to support student success initiatives.
- Participate in University College and Athletic Compliance-sponsored programs and events.
- Assist with recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and other campus-wide events as needed.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Education, or related field.
- Two (2) years of counseling or advising experience.
