Essential Job Duties:

The Anesthesia Department provides advanced anesthetic support to a varied patient population across the hospital campus, including small, large, and exotic species. While this role primarily operates within the Nephrology/Urology and Internal Medicine clinical areas, the successful candidate must be adaptable and willing to float to other service areas throughout the hospital complex as needed.

This position requires advanced veterinary medical knowledge—specifically including previous experience in a canine and feline veterinary setting—strong time-management skills, and the ability to thrive and practice good judgment independently in a fast-paced, teaching-focused clinical environment.

Minimum Experience/Education:

Completion of an accredited training program in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing anesthesia and perioperative patient care in a specialty, emergency, referral, or teaching veterinary hospital setting. Demonstrated proficiency in anesthetic monitoring, advanced drug calculations, pain management, and recovery of small animal patients; experience with large animal and/or exotic species is preferred.

Required License or Certification:

Licensed/Registered/Certified by any state. Graduation from an AVMA fully accredited two- or four-year Veterinary Technician program.
