The Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC) manages and coordinates all strategic and operational business arising, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. It is the key liaison between the Vice-Chancellor and external parties. The Office provides strategic leadership and oversight of our priorities as articulated in the University’s strategic plan and ensures that the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Executive maximise their effectiveness in achieving them.
Key functions within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor include: Executive Services; Strategy and Planning; Strategic Communications and Engagement; Governance and Secretariat; and Equity, Diversity and Belonging.
About the Role:
The Senior Executive Officer to the Vice-Chancellor is one of the most critical roles underpinning/facilitating the Vice-Chancellor’s impact as a leader and their day-to-day operational success.
We are seeking an individual who not only excels in a fast-paced environment but also possesses exceptional organisational skills, demonstrating a systematic approach to every task. This role demands someone who thrives on challenges and can navigate assertively through dynamic situations with ease.

About You:
The Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC) is a multi-disciplinary, high-performing team that leads strategy execution alongside the Vice-Chancellor. The OVC’s collaborative working environment will help you thrive and achieve the best outcomes for yourself, the solutions you find and the high-quality outcomes you deliver.
You will have:
- Experience working within an executive and/or senior leadership office with a proven track record of contributing to their success as a leader;
- Exceptional organisational skills and an ability to multitask with great effect and impact;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to remain calm under pressure or when challenged;
- Meticulous attention to detail and adeptness at operating within tight timeframes to consistently meet deadlines;
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the application of all forms of relevant technology to improve productivity.
Conditions & Benefits:
This is a full time position at a HEP 9 classification with a salary range of $124,066 - $129,080 per annum classification plus 17% employer superannuation contributions, working 36.75 hours per week over a continuing period.
Flexible work arrangements will be considered and negotiated ─ but within the context of ensuring that the quality of executive services to the Vice-Chancellor is not compromised.
