Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required (or foreign degree equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities; specific minimum experience is at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong interpersonal communications skills; computer skills; demonstrated integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of the sport are required. Knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations essential. Must possess a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, and counsel. CPR/First Aid certified – CSCS (from NSCA) and/or CSCCa.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strongly prefer a Master’s degree with 5-7 years of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities. Experience managing sports performance staff and facilities. Previous strength and condition coaching experience with collegiate student-athletes preferably in an NCAA Division I program. Successful intercollegiate coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level, and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred. Knowledge for establishing policies and procedures for day to day operations is preferred.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
