Sr. Grants & Contracts Analyst
Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Sr. Grants & Contracts Analyst to provide dedicated professional level sponsored funds management. This role involves pre-award and post-award functions including proposal preparation, submission, budget development, account maintenance, oversight, billing, invoicing, reporting, compliance, and closeout.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with departmental faculty and the Office of Research Administration for application submissions to federal offices, private agencies, and commercial companies.
- Understand and utilize institutional policies and sponsor guidelines.
- Review sponsored project proposals for accuracy, content, and adherence to guidelines before forwarding.
- Prepare proposal budgets for Principal Investigator review.
- Provide instruction and support for grant application procedures.
- Serve as liaison between research units, central offices, and funding agencies.
- Review budgets and justifications, and provide groundwork for subcontract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with sponsoring organization guidelines, internal protocols, and other requirements.
- Manage assigned grant submissions for timeliness and accuracy.
- Maintain updates and communications on grants, including auditing, reporting to principal investigators, and updates to departmental leadership.
- Manage post-award processes such as award setup, account verification, budget distribution, reconciliation, effort reporting, cost transfers, invoice payments, and subcontract setup.
- Oversee complex award management activities and provide oversight to other employees.
- Assist with contract and grant closeouts.
- Manage Innovation and internal awards, all contract and Inter-Entity agreements for the Division, support research budget development, and pre-review effort certification forms.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid knowledge of accounting and budgeting theory and practices. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and make independent judgments.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and four years of related experience in sponsored research and/or financial positions, preferably in an academic or medical setting. Additional education may substitute for experience, and vice versa per JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of external Federal guidelines and The Johns Hopkins University accounting system.

Role/Level/Range: ATP/04/PD
Starting Salary Range: $62,900 - $110,100 Annually (targeted $90,000, commensurate with experience)
Employee group: Full Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 to 5:00
FLSA Status: Exempt
