Staff Assistant, Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
Position Summary
The University at Buffalo (UB) Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is seeking an energetic, highly professional Staff Assistant to join our team. Under the general direction of the Director, you will serve as liaison to and work closely with the EOP staff; oversee annual events and student programs; supervise front desk activities and student support staff; and provide the budget/finance and human resource administrative support.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Operations management - responsible for the day-to-day general office management to ensure timely and effective delivery of services.
- Financial support - responsible EOP financial resource related transactions across all funding sources, maintenance of EOP budget information, day-to-day procurement transaction and monthly reconciliation of transactions in compliance with all university and state guidelines across all financial systems.
- Human Resources support - responsible for creation of personnel appointments and supervision of work study and other hourly student employees.
- Program & Event support - assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of EOP programs, workshops, and activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced education/higher education environment working directly with students and parents.
- Strong administrative, customer service, and data management skills
- High-level organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)
- Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills demonstrating respect for diverse constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year work experience.
- Professional higher education experience related to working in student services
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience developing and managing annual department budgets.
Salary Range: $52,000 - $57,000
