Cincinnati Counseling and Psychological Services (UC-CAPS) is looking for qualified individuals to apply for the Staff Psychologist ? Assessment Specialist position and join our energetic, multidisciplinary, culturally informed collaborative team of mental health professionals to provide comprehensive clinical and psycho-educational services to UC?s student body. We seek a generalist with well-developed clinical skills, and significant experience and interest in psychological assessment to provide oversight and supervision of psychological assessment for the APA accredited internship, training program and student assessment services. This position will coordinate campus initiatives for student support related to psychological assessment.
Job Overview
We are seeking a generalist with well-developed clinical skills, and significant experience and interest in psychological assessment. Under administrative oversight at CAPS, the Staff Psychologist ? Assessment Specialist will provide comprehensive clinical, consultative, emergency, and psycho-educational, and outreach services, ensuring adherence to national professional association ethical standards and compliance with state and federal laws related to service delivery, record keeping, and documentation. The role also involves developing and providing outreach programs to the campus community, fostering a supportive environment that promotes the academic success and well-being of students; as well as the assessment competency development of psychologists-in-training.
Essential Functions
- Conduct individual and group counseling.
- Serve as a specialist for psychological assessment services at CAPS, including supervision of trainees provision of psychological assessment services, based on interest and/or experience.
- Write reports and proposals concerning program operation.
- Assess needs and create, plan, and implement outreach activities.
- Consult with faculty and staff within the university regarding counseling needs and provide training to faculty and staff on creating supportive learning environments.

Required Education
- Doctoral Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.).
Required Trainings/Certifications
- Licensed Psychologist or licensed eligible in the State of Ohio (must obtain license in the State of Ohio within six (6) months of date of hire).
Required Experience
- Three (3) years of clinical counseling experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- A doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program.
- Pre-doctoral internship from an APA accredited internship training site.
- Experience working with sexual assault/trauma concerns.
- Experience providing brief individual therapy and outreach services
- Experience providing group counseling.
- Experience working in a university or college counseling center.
- Good interpersonal skills, team oriented, and desire to collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting. The ability to manage the professional demands of a challenging caseload while maintaining good self-care and positive and healthy perspectives.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessment.
- Experience in providing clinical supervision.
