Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Student Cases and Conduct Officer (Investigations) to join our established Student Cases, Conduct and Safeguarding (SCCS) team within Student Experience and Support. This post has a specific focus on investigating student misconduct, including bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct. Experience of undertaking formal investigations in a higher education or similar regulated environment, and demonstrable experience of carrying out investigations into cases of sexual misconduct is a key part of the role. The role is suited to someone confident in using trauma-informed approaches and who is able to support the development of investigation processes at the University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake and manage investigations into non-academic misconduct, including interviewing students, witnesses and staff.
  • Gather, assess and evaluate evidence, ensuring investigations are fair, thorough and procedurally robust.
  • Prepare clear, accurate investigation reports and present cases to the Student Case Management Group and misconduct hearings.
  • Work directly with students involved in investigatory processes, communicating clearly and sensitively throughout.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and GDPR-compliant records and contribute to the review and improvement of investigative processes and guidance.

The Student Cases, Conduct and Safeguarding (SCCS) team manages some of the University’s most complex and sensitive student matters, working in close partnership with academic schools, professional services and external agencies.
