About Us

Spanning the historic streets of the "city of dreaming spires," the University of Oxford has been ranked the world’s leading university for nine consecutive years. A place where centuries of tradition meet world-changing innovation, we offer you the chance to shape the future while working in an inspiring environment that promotes excellence. Here, you’ll contribute to ground-breaking research that tackles global challenges - from advancing sustainability to pioneering healthcare solutions - and join a diverse, inclusive community that champions your wellbeing, development, and aspirations. Apply now to become part of our extraordinary legacy.

The Student Fees and Funding team is a friendly and supportive team with around 34 staff who manage central fee processes and a wide range of financial support and funding opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants and students. This includes scholarships, bursaries and loan programmes, international schemes and central financial assistance, working closely with a range of stakeholders across the collegiate University to support students to pursue their studies.

What We Offer

Working at the University of Oxford offers several exclusive benefits, such as:

  • 38 days’ annual leave, with options to buy extra days and gain more with long service.
  • Generous family leave, including up to 26 weeks’ full-pay maternity/adoption leave and 12 weeks’ full-pay paternity/partner leave.
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • A strong contributory pension scheme.
  • Affordable commuting options like cycle loans, discounted buses, and season ticket loans.
  • Access to a vibrant social, cultural, and sports community.

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of the development and delivery of access to education at Oxford, part of the group responsible for administering a wide range of financial support, including undergraduate bursaries, financial assistance funding and other on-course awards.

You will also lead on delivery of Oxford’s Financial Assistance, and related targeted support, including the Care Experienced and Estranged Student Bursary and the Student Support Bursary. Your role will line manage three members of staff and you will also provide support to the Deputy Head of Student Fees and Funding.

About You

You must be organised, proactive, detail-focused, and able to prioritise multiple demands, with experience coaching or managing staff. The role requires designing and improving administrative processes to support strategic goals, including narrative reporting and analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across and beyond the collegiate university are essential.
