Job Description:

Job Title: Student Success Coach

Location: Bellarmine Campus, Fairfield University

Position Summary:

The Student Success Coach at Fairfield Bellarmine is responsible for coordinating all of the academic and co-curricular support available to students in order to help them graduate on time and matriculate into a bachelors’ degree program.

  • Provide primary support for second-year students to ensure continued academic success, persistence, and preparation for post-graduate transition, while collaborating closely with the Success Coach assigned to first-year students to support a seamless student experience across cohorts.
  • Assist deans and faculty in developing, delivering, and assessing strategies to help students improve skills and academic performance.
  • Assist in guiding students through the process of matriculating into a bachelor's degree program after earning an associate degree.
  • Contribute to the identification and analysis of student success outcomes.
  • Aid in tracking the Early Alerts via Starfish and Student of Concerns via Maxient, following up with students regarding their progress and concerns, with a particular focus on students placed on academic warning or probation.
  • Report weekly to the Bellarmine Case Management team. Collaborate with faculty mentors to establish individual and group plans for academic improvement.
  • Inform students of policies, procedures, and degree requirements to foster academic success.
  • Work with faculty, staff, and administrators across the university to meet student academic, wellness, and career search needs.
  • Assist in managing and distributing emergency student support services (e.g., food insecurities, transportation, etc.) to ensure students' basic needs are met, fostering an environment conducive to academic success.
  • Assist in securing appropriate accommodations from the Office of Accessibility.
  • Assist the Career Internship Coordinator with Career Mentoring programs.
  • Maintain accurate student records for reporting purposes while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Track and maintain contact with alumni after graduation to monitor post-graduate success, collect outcome data, and support ongoing engagement with the university.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to or appreciation for the Catholic and Jesuit mission of Fairfield University.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in academic advising, counseling, or student success coaching preferred.
  • Familiarity with higher education policies, procedures, and resources.

The position will report to the Assistant Dean for Student Success with dotted-line supervision to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
