We now have an exciting opportunity for a Student Success Officer to join our dedicated team in the Student Services and Support Directorate.

  • Full-time, continuing position
  • Located at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
  • HEWL 5: $78,740 - $89,310 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Supporting a diverse range of students enrolled at JCU, you’ll provide timely advice, advocacy and referral services to enable successful transition into, progression through, and engagement with University life, including the delivery of personalised case management. You’ll contribute to student retention through evidence-based strategies and proactive collaboration with students and staff to identify individual support needs, monitor student engagement and identify ‘at risk’ students to support their wellbeing and cultural needs.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

With a related qualification or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training, you demonstrate cultural awareness and have experience supporting diverse students, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and those with English as an additional language. You bring effective computer and data entry skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and other learning related software, and a proven ability to interpret and act on data, preferably in a Higher Education setting. As an effective and confident communicator, you establish and maintain highly effective working relationships whilst you use organisational, problem solving and administrative skills to prioritise and meet competing deadlines.

ABOUT THE STUDENT SERVICES AND SUPPORT DIRECTORATE

The Student Services and Support Directorate is responsible for managing and coordinating a broad range of student administrative and enquiry management functions and services that are critical to the student experience. Services cover the stages of the student life cycle, from once admitted to a course through to graduation. Areas within the Directorate include Academic Administration and Enrolment; Client Services, Communications and Engagement; Inclusion, Wellbeing and Outreach; Student Finance and Scholarships; Examinations and Graduations; and Student Matters.
