About the Role

Our mission is to help students feel supported and empowered with confidence to succeed at University. As our Student Success & Wellbeing Coordinator, you will lead the strategic delivery of student success and wellbeing services and initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality guidance and support to students. The position is responsible for the operational oversight of the Student Success and Wellbeing Advisor (SSWA) team, including managing the team's workflow, triaging and allocation of student cases and implementation of quality assurance processes to enhance the student experience, retention, and success.

As a member of the Student Life division, the Student Success and Wellbeing Coordinator leads the identification and execution of proactive outreach campaigns, events, and interventions across the student lifecycle. The role acts as a primary liaison between Student Life, the Colleges, and student service areas across the University. The role also works collaboratively with Student Success Leads to design and monitor targeted support services for specific equity cohorts.

This is a hugely rewarding role, as you lead the design and execution of targeted outreach campaigns focusing on critical milestones like orientation, census dates, and academic progress cycles, and see the results first-hand.

Some out of hours, weekend and travel may be required.

Other key position responsibilities include:

  • Acting as an escalation point for SSWAs, providing specialized guidance on sensitive and high-risk matters.
  • Providing one to one case management for students to support their wellbeing and academic needs.
  • Overseeing data collection, analysis, and interpretation to monitor the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives and student retention across different student cohorts and equity groups.
  • Providing regular reports and analysis on the performance of student success and wellbeing initiatives to key stakeholders and presenting findings to various relevant working groups and committees.
  • Identifying students experiencing difficulty progressing and implementing a range of proactive student success strategies and supports including early detection and preventative measures aimed at improving academic success and retention.

About You

With experience coordinating high-volume case management or triage systems for a team, (preferably within a mental health or student support context), whilst also managing a personal case load, you possess high level interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including students from a diverse background and staff.

Your exceptional written and oral communication, ensure your capacity to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders. This is matched by your ability to manage projects including identifying priorities, working to deadlines and providing regular status reports and updates.

To be successful in this role, you will also have:

  • Experience and proven ability collecting and interpreting data from Student Information Systems and CRM platforms to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to provide operational team leadership in a fast-paced environment, including developing procedures and maintaining service standards.
  • A well-developed understanding of the higher education sector and factors that impact on student wellbeing, retention and success.
  • An understanding of contemporary thinking and practice in the field of student engagement, success and wellbeing (desirable).

It is expected that the successful candidate will have completed a degree with subsequent relevant experience or have an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
