Study Coordinator
About Us
Functioning under the direction of the site principal investigator and Co investigator, the research coordinator will participate in data collection and review for a multi-site study designed to evaluate the impact of an intervention to improve communication between medical teams and hospitalized patients/families who speak languages other than English. The Study Coordinator will primarily assist in ensuring all key personnel (nursing, interpreter when indicated) are present on rounds. This is a 20 hour per week in person position (4 hr per day, 5 days per week) during the 4-month data collection period (Nov 2025-March 2026). This is also an opportunity for an individual who might be interested in the medical field to learn more about daily operations in the hospital.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement study protocols, including arriving prior to the start of rounds (7am or 8am) to plan for the day and meet with physician team members;
- Perform data collection and quality control of study data;
- Assist current Research Assistant as time allows;
- Oversee the process by which participants are enrolled and recruited into the study;
- Develop and implement methods to track and follow-up with study participants;
- Complete rounds summary forms;
- Implement quality control procedures;
- Possibly assist in the preparation of grants for future studies;
- Perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor's Degree is required.
-Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a geographically disbursed team.
-Strong computer skills, including MS Excel.
