Position Summary
The Supervisor, Enterprise Application Services position coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Web Team within Enterprise Application Services. This role guides assigned technical staff in the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise application development and support activities such as the enterprise content management system (UBCMS), the university portal (MyUB), and the UB mobile app. The position focuses on ensuring work is completed on schedule, standards are followed, and solutions meet quality and security requirements. The Supervisor assists with workload coordination, supports technical best practices, and helps ensure team efforts contribute effectively to unit and university objectives. This is a campus based position with the possibility of hybrid work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate design, development, testing, and support of enterprise application software while remaining hands-on with technical work
- Manage project execution including project plans, resource allocation, and task prioritization in coordination with VPCIO portfolio prioritization
- Directly supervise technical staff members; provide performance feedback, career development guidance, and technical mentorship
- Support, design, and troubleshoot mission-critical enterprise systems; evaluate and respond to enhancement requests and reported problems
- Ensure solutions conform to infrastructure standards (technical, security, application, data) and integrate effectively with other applications
- Assist in planning and implementation of major campus-wide programs; evaluate new technologies for fit within University environment
- Guide staff in career growth, facilitate team collaboration, and foster a positive work culture focused on customer service excellence

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 3 years of experience or masters degree with 1 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Proven effective experience in the Information Systems field, the experience should encompass relevant aspects of implementing and coordinating information technology in support of application development and should include experience in a comparable environment
- Excellent project management, communication and problem-solving skills, and eager to learn new technologies and approaches.
- Demonstrated leadership potential or previous experience mentoring junior staff or leading technical initiatives
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with people having diverse skill levels and varying backgrounds in a university setting.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in computer science, data science, computer information systems, or related fields. Previous supervisory or team lead experience, and experience with performance management and staff development.
- Experience working with web content management systems, including helping maintain content, following established guidelines, and collaborating with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Familiarity with web accessibility principles and standards (such as WCAG and ADA), and an interest or experience in helping ensure digital content is usable and accessible for all audiences.
- Experience coordinating or supporting web or enterprise application projects, including planning work, tracking progress, and collaborating with cross-functional teams using Agile or Scrum-based approaches.
- A working understanding of common web technologies (such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and responsive, mobile-friendly design concepts, with the ability to communicate effectively with developers and help inform technical decisions.
- Demonstrated interest in learning, developing, and growing in a supervisory or people-leadership capacity.
- Experience with advanced, large-scale systems in a complex university environment.
- Familiarity with enterprise application platforms and integration patterns
Salary Range
$105,000 - $110,000
