We now have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Procurement and Travel to join our team in the Financial and Business Services Directorate. In this role, you will play a key role in the operational delivery of procurement, travel and corporate card services that support staff and students across the University. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strong technical knowledge with practical problem-solving and day-to-day service coordination.
- Full-time, continuing position
- Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
- HEWL 6: $90,821 - $98,369 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits
- Hybrid and flexible work options may be available in line with University policy and operational requirements.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this hands-on supervisory role, you will lead a small team responsible for procurement, travel and corporate card processes, ensuring transactions are accurate, compliant and aligned with relevant policy, procedures, delegations and financial governance. As the team leader, you will monitor system data, reconciliations and exception reporting, and act as the first escalation point to address non-compliance where required.
You will provide expert advice and practical support to staff and travellers, act as the first escalation point for complex operational matters and contribute to training and communications that build understanding of systems, processes and best practice. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, the corporate card provider and the Travel Management Company to support consistent, high-quality service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and solutions-focused professional with demonstrated experience in procurement, corporate card or expense management and travel administration within a complex environment. Relevant qualifications in procurement, finance or business are desirable, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience. Experience in purchasing and associated finance or accounts roles is essential, with supervisory experience highly regarded. Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and a continuous improvement mindset will be key to success in this role.
