Surgery, Pediatric Division Chief, Associate Professor / Professor (2071)
The Department of Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief, Division of Pediatric Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief of Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
This is a combined divisional and hospital leadership role for an accomplished pediatric surgeon who is prepared to build upon an already strong and cohesive program and guide it to its next phase as a nationally pre-eminent, world-class pediatric surgical enterprise. The Division is clinically robust, culturally healthy, and academically productive, with a solid foundation upon which to further elevate impact and reputation.
The position will be focused on the success and development of the faculty across missions; active engagement in institutional and departmental leadership; a deep understanding of the role of culture in organizational performance; and the ability to lead both strategically and operationally to advance Division objectives. Mentoring faculty and identifying and promoting opportunities for Pediatric Surgery faculty and trainees will be central to this role.
As Surgeon-in-Chief, the position will play an integral role in the operational and continued advancement of Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. They must be committed to fostering collaboration across Pediatric Surgery and pediatric subspecialties and to promoting meaningful partnerships across the School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Health System in support of clinical care, education and research.
