General Summary
The Part-Time Odessa College Surgical Technology Adjunct Instructor is responsible for teaching and guiding students in the Surgical Technology program. This role involves delivering curriculum, assessing student performance, and providing hands-on training in both classroom and clinical settings. The instructor collaborates with other faculty members to ensure the program meets accreditation standards and prepares students for certification exams.
Specific Position Duties
- Deliver lectures and hands-on training in surgical technology courses.
- Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical assessments.
- Offer feedback and guidance to help students improve their skills and knowledge.
- Assist in coordinating clinical placements for students in healthcare settings.
- Maintain relationships with clinical sites and ensure compliance with program standards.
- Stay current with developments in the field of surgical technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Any Associates Degree or higher and CST credential in the field of surgical technology through a national commission on certifying agencies NCCA and a minimum of 3 years of experience in operating room or instructor in surgical tech. Strong communication and organizational skills.
