Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The System Director, Imaging Services provides enterprise-level leadership for all diagnostic imaging operations across the UCI Health system. The incumbent is accountable for the strategic direction, clinical quality, operational performance, and financial management of imaging services systemwide, encompassing modalities inclusive of radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, MRI, and CT. This role oversees the development and execution of systemwide imaging strategies that advance patient access, care quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The System Director partners with clinical and administrative leadership to drive service line growth, capital and technology investment planning, and workforce development, ensuring imaging services are delivered in alignment with health system standards and organizational objectives. This position provides leadership and oversight to departmental managers and directors across all facilities, with accountability for performance outcomes.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong planning, financial and analytical skills to effectively evaluate and lead projects of major impact to the organization
  • Minimum 8 years' experience of progressive management responsibility
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an executive leadership role (Director or higher) in a related setting
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience to cover operations, with related accomplishments in performance, development, productivity, and cost management
  • Knowledge of and experience with performance improvement methodologies and techniques
  • Full understanding of and ability to effectively respond to elements that drive competitive advantage under dynamic conditions such as health care industry changes, competitor actions, legal/regulatory changes and technological trends
  • Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically to problem solve
  • Demonstrated experience with the theory and practice of radiology imaging as a technologist
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret complex regulations, contracts and policies
  • Ability to manage staff and resources consistent with goals, and in keeping the organizational vision and values. Ability to delegate and empower staff and build strong employee morale
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively to build trust and establish effective working relationships within the department, across the organization and with a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to build, attract and develop a strong management team by demonstrating and setting high standards of behavior, performance, quality, credibility and integrity
