POSITION SPECIFICS
The Pennsylvania State University Libraries seeks applications for the position of Systematic Review Librarian. This is a 48-week tenure-line faculty position reporting to the Associate Director of the Harrell Health Sciences Library (HHSL). The Librarian for Systematic Review is responsible for the management of the Libraries Systematic Review Service and is the primary librarian for conducting advanced information synthesis projects in partnership with Penn State College of Medicine and Milton S. Hershey Medical Center researchers. This position provides reference services and functions as a faculty departmental liaison to several clinical departments as well as Nursing Education and the Physician's Assistant Program.
Required Qualifications
- An MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program (or equivalent/advanced degree in relevant academic disciplines);
- Experience in collaborative research, systematic review expert searcher training;
- Familiarity with PRISMA/JBI and systematic review software (Rayyan, Covidence, etc.);
- Experience as a liaison librarian providing instruction, reference, and research support;
- Strong knowledge of print and digital information resources;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team; and
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years' experience in a health sciences library;
- Experience in course integrated library instruction;
- Demonstrated experience with current technologies such as online meeting systems, Open Science workflows, project management tools, Microsoft products and specialized library research software.
The successful candidate may be hired at the rank of Assistant Librarian or Associate Librarian. Candidate for the rank of Assistant Librarian should possess a graduate degree in library or information studies or other or equivalent/advanced degree in relevant academic disciplines; must have demonstrated potential ability as a librarian; and must show promise of growth in research and service. Candidate for the rank of Associate Librarian should possess the same qualifications as the Assistant Librarian, and further demonstrate excellence in librarianship, show evidence of an established reputation in research, and have a strong record of service to the University and the profession. Compensation and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with a candidate's qualifications, education, and experience.
