Associate Director of Athletics - 1299
Job Description
The Athletics Department at Saint Michael's College invites applications for the Associate Director of Athletics position. This key administrative leadership position provides oversight of all aspects of approximately seven varsity programs/teams, and ensures the College’s 21-varsity sports program remains compliant with NCAA rules and student-athletes' eligibility for over 400 student-athletes. The Associate Director is responsible for managing personnel, operational budgets, administrative areas, athletic events and initiatives, summer camp programs, and education and awareness programs.
This position requires the ability to work a regular work schedule and irregular hours and night/weekend responsibilities during the academic year and holidays. Some daytime and overnight travel are expected.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Hires, mentors, supervises, and evaluates Head Coaches of specific sports programs and other administrative personnel
- Oversees home game management of programs supervised or assigned by the Director of Athletics
- Contributes significantly to the short and long-term planning for the department
- Assists the Director of Athletics with departmental decisions regarding facilities, equipment, personnel, and programs
- Coordinates the First Year Student-Athlete Orientation Program, Purple Knight Leadership Academy, National Student Athlete Day/National College Athlete Honor Society, National Girls & Women in Sport Day, and similar initiatives
- Assists in completing the NCAA Institutional Self Study Guide (ISSG)
- Schedules, trains, and supports concession stand staff for 25 +/- home basketball contests. Manages inventory, procures supplies, and reconciles all expenses and revenue
- Coordinates, develops and facilitates student-athlete and staff leadership development
- Organizes and executes Title IX Sexual Assault education and awareness programming
- Commits to supporting and collaborating on Title IX and gender equity matters. Advocates and educates important issues to women and men student-athletes, coaches, and staff

Requirements:
Applicants should have the following:
- Advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in athletic administration at the collegiate level
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office
