Summary

This is an hourly position as a research assistant. The research assistant will assist on a project working with Social Sciences faculty and the Dearborn Historical Museum. Responsibilities include working with the Dearborn Historical Museum to request records from the city of Dearborn administration, sort through the city's collection of historical photographs, create a finding aid that identifies Arab and Muslim content in these collections, and sort through the records of past administrations seeking related content. 

Working with the staff of the museum, the researcher will provide brief descriptions of these documents, images, and other materials. This work will be conducted on site at the Dearborn Historical Museum. The researcher may also conduct oral history interviews with some subjects and provide transcripts of these interviews. 

Required Qualifications*

The research assistant should be familiar with:

• Google Drive and Google Sheets;
• Communicating professionally;
• Oral history methodologies;
• Collecting and analysis of archival materials;
• Must have their own transportation;
• Must also be a current student.

Desired Qualifications*

• Previous research experience.
