As a Maintenance Technician at Champlain College, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our campus facilities. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities-Maintenance, you will assist in various maintenance tasks, moving furniture, and snow clearing during the winter months. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the maintenance staff in maintaining campus buildings and systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance repairs as assigned
• Complete work orders to ensure the efficient functioning of campus facilities
• Assist the Facilities department in moving furniture and items as needed
• Relocate academic offices, classrooms, and materials within residence halls
• Oversee student employees in clearing snow around the campus during operational hours in winter
• Assist with winter snow emergencies outside of normal operating hours

Requirements:

• Two years of experience in a related field, is desired
• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license
• Potential for overtime if additional hours are desired
• Ability to work odd hours for snow and ice removal and special events
• On-call availability for campus grounds and building emergencies
• Flexibility and reliability due to the nature of assigned duties and tasks
• Experience with duties associated with locksmith and access control, is helpful

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to extreme weather conditions during summer and winter seasons
• Exposure to maintenance-related chemicals, including pesticides and fertilizers
• Exposure to falling snow and ice during roof clearing
