Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) is an intentionally Christian teaching university for
traditional age students, graduate students, and working adults who seek opportunities to learn and grow

The University is seeking a full-time (nine-month) Business Faculty member for its Business Department
located within the Jetter School of Professional Studies on the Mount Vernon Main Campus, beginning
in fall semester 2024. Rank is open. Compensation is competitive among the Council for Christian
Colleges and Universities. A full complement of benefits is provided, including a health care plan,
retirement contributions and tuition assistance (self and dependents).
Responsibilities may include:
• Teaching courses from an intentionally Christian worldview for the business department. Specific
teaching assignments will be determined after considering the background and experience of all
department faculty
• Advising of business department majors, and ensuring that their academic progress meets
requirements set by the institution and department, and working with students in career
preparation and professional development
• Identifying, developing, and overseeing appropriate internship opportunities
• Developing and maintaining quality relationships with community members and local businesses
• Assisting in recruiting prospective students
• Supporting departmental efforts for continued improvement of programs and faculty scholarship
• Assisting the department with ACBSP accreditation activities
• Serving the University through committee participation
Qualifications:
• An Evangelical Christian confession of faith and experience is required with the ability to
integrate Christian values into all aspects of life and learning and a willingness to adhere to
university Lifestyle Guidelines
• Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Marketing preferred; MBA in Marketing or MBA in related
field considered
• ACBSP (or other business accreditation) experience preferred
• Evidence of scholarly potential
• Commitment to quality classroom instruction and demonstrable record of successful teaching
within higher education
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with others
• Desire to help students succeed in the university setting with strong connectivity to college student
needs.
