Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings & weekends

Job Summary: The Event Coordinator oversees the implementation, execution, and follow-up for events hosted on- and off-campus. Creates invitations. Selects sites. Creates seating arrangements. Negotiates with florist, caterers, event space staff, print shops, etc. Manages on-site contract staff, students, and etc.
Additional Department Summary: Responsible for attending events as assigned, which include but are not limited to, receptions for prospective students/parents, high school counselor briefings, Capstone Scholars Day, and additional events as they occur. Must be able to work flexible hours and days to include some weekends and evenings. Position includes extensive travel. Must be well-organized, detailed oriented, able to multi-task and be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Ability to work as a team member and work closely with other areas on campus.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some event planning or coordination experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of event planning or coordination experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of event planning or coordination experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: At least one year experience working in a higher education environment with a preference for Admissions. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of etiquette, protocol, social manners, menus, decorations, and service skills as it relates to event planning.
