Research Communications Officer

- Remuneration: $116,370 to $127,294 pa (HEW7) (inclusive of $98,334 to $107,565 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
- Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Research Communications Officer to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.
Located within the Communications and Government Relations Department, the Research Communications Officer undertakes communications, media and promotional activities to support QUT’s reputation as a research-intensive university. This role works across the QUT research community to: • profile and promote research outcomes, capabilities and facilities to an external audience • identify opportunities to upskill researchers and raise awareness of promotional tools including QUT websites, staff profiles, Research Web Platform, media and digital signage • develop high quality research communications • collaborate with the QUT Media team, Web and Digital Strategy team, Brand and Creative Studio and stakeholders, including the Research Portfolio.

This position works in a small team of two on a diverse range of communication activities to promote QUT's research and researchers externally.
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience in corporate communications, marketing or public relations.
- High-level writing and editing skills with demonstrated ability to produce effective, high-quality content and communicate clearly about complex research topics.
- High-level interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with a wide range of people including colleagues, researchers, senior academic staff, industry, government and community groups.
- Well-developed organisational skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a dynamic environment (both individually and as part of a small high-performing team).
Desirable
- Experience with web content systems such as Squiz Matrix and WordPress, or ability to learn these systems quickly.
