Visiting Assistant Professor, Biology Department


Lawrence University of Wisconsin, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin, invites applications for a two-year appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin September 2, 2024. Applicants should hold a PhD in biology or related discipline and be interested in working closely with undergraduate students. Responsibilities include teaching BIOL 135: Ecology, Evolution, and Society, BIOL 280: Experimental Design and Statistics, and ecology-related courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is two non-lab courses (or one course with two lab sections) per trimester on a 10-week trimester calendar. Laboratory space, funds to support research, and support for professional development will be available. The Department of Biology has excellent facilities to support faculty research and teaching, including state-of-the-art facilities for use in cell culture work and several model genetic and ecological systems, biological imaging, and plant and animal terrestrial and aquatic science research. Recent postdoctoral and adjunct faculty have been highly successful at obtaining tenure-track positions.
