The Opportunity
At the University of the Sunshine Coast, Engagement & Transformation Services serves as a pivotal force in tackling new challenges with practical solutions. We lead in Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysis, Project Management, Strategic Initiative Delivery, and more, promoting flexibility and innovation across our operations.
As the Associate Director, you enable our university's business strategy by ensuring our community stays current with technology advancements and continually pursues opportunities for improvement. You will play a crucial role in driving innovation, shaping enterprise architecture, and delivering key projects that drive meaningful change across the university. This position serves as a pivotal link between our IT department and business units, facilitating the adoption of innovative solutions and ensuring successful project outcomes.
You will
- lead technology-enabled innovation and business strategy to support the University's growth and success;
- establish effective Enterprise Architecture, Innovation, Analysis, Project Management, and Change practices to ensure quality, manage risks, and maintain thorough documentation across team activities, using measurable metrics;
- manage internal change demands at the University, guiding a team of technical experts to provide support and development across our application suite; and
- define, govern, and promote the adoption of industry best practices and standards to improve Software Development Lifecycle outcomes through automation and appropriate tool implementation to achieve business goals.
About you
You will play a critical role in transforming our university through technology, supporting our core missions in learning, teaching, research, and professional services. You'll drive innovation and ensure that projects meet their goals with precision. You will lead the definition and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture principles, overseeing our Project Management Office to track and report on projects, risks, and schedules effectively. As a key communicator, you'll provide crucial updates to senior management and peers. Your strategic input into IT planning and budget submissions will be essential in guiding our university's future success.
You will possess:
- Excellent understanding and proven track record in business engagement, innovation, enterprise architecture, and Project Management within large, complex organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive value through both project delivery and innovation, effectively managing constraints such as budget limitations.
- Experience and expertise in leading and motivating teams in dynamic, evolving environments.
- Extensive experience in facilitating decision-making and troubleshooting project delivery issues.
- Operational and financial management expertise, coupled with efficient resource utilisation.
- Ability to conduct complex consultation and negotiation processes, achieving strategic outcomes and gaining organisational support.
- High-level verbal and written communication and reporting skills, emphasising confidentiality, diplomacy, active listening, empathy, and respect within team environments.
