Position Summary:
UNSW Business School is a leader in business education and research in the Asian region and one of the largest Business Schools in Australia with more than 16,500 students, 500 academic and professional staff and more than 80,000 alumni and partners. The Business School offers a full suite of business degree programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, coursework and research levels, including the AGSM MBA programs and a range of Executive Programs.
The Senior Industry Engagement Officer (Domestic) plays a key role within the Career Accelerator and Student Engagement team, providing high level management of external stakeholder relationships and several concurrent programs. The role entails supporting employability and work integrated learning (WIL) programs for Business School, including work-integrated-learning project courses, mentoring, internships and other opportunities. The role of Senior Industry Engagement Officer (Domestic) reports to the Engagement Manager and has no direct reports.
Accountabilities:

- Develop and maintain internship and WIL opportunities for UNSW Business School students in Australia, and at times overseas, in consultation with the Engagement Manager and Career Programs Manager.
- Identify and engage with appropriate organisations to partner with the Business School for the provision of WIL and career development opportunities..
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders (including academics and professional staff internally, and staff in external partner organisations) to increase the number of students participating in WIL and career development learning during their time at UNSW.
- Promote WIL opportunities to students in alignment with the Business School and UNSW strategy, increasing the number of WIL placements on previous years.
- Assume responsibility and take initiative to lead key processes to build and extend relationships with industry partners and expand number of WIL offerings for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Engage and manage stakeholders and develop and implement strategic initiatives in alignment with the Business School industry partnership strategy.
- Provide data and reports on engagement activity and other key performance areas and take responsibility for the review of WIL courses and activities contributing to the faculty strategy.
Skills and Experience:
To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in relationship management, stakeholder engagement or business development with a demonstrated record of achieving results.
- Substantial experience in the tertiary education sector or similar relevant fields, with an understanding of emerging trends in WIL and CDL, and appreciation of best practice offerings domestically and internationally will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects focused on specific outcomes that engage multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate openly and regularly with a range of stakeholders/client groups, and to deliver high-quality public presentations.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines, with minimum supervision.
