Position Summary:

The University of Charleston’s School of Business is seeking a pool of applicants for adjunct teaching positions in economics, financial planning, and marketing on the University of Charleston campus in Charleston, WV, beginning January 2024.

Essential Responsibilities:

Primary duties include classroom instruction and assessment of student learning. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and technology skills and perform duties relating to classroom instruction, including but not limited to facilitating engaging classroom lectures and discussions, grading assignments, and promptly responding to student inquiries.

Qualifications:

We invite applications from academics and industry professionals. Part-time adjunct instructional faculty must possess a master’s degree or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related field with 18 graduate hours in the subject taught. Significant work experience will be strongly considered for candidates without 18 graduate hours in the field. Collegiate teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Adjunct teaching positions are available in the following areas:

1. Position – Economics

• Courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics
• Qualifications include a master’s degree in economics or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related field with 18 graduate hours in economics.

1. Position – Financial Planning

• Courses in retirement planning and investments
• Qualifications include a master’s degree in financial planning or finance or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related field with 18 graduate hours in finance.

1. Position – Marketing

• Courses in advertising
• Qualifications include a master’s degree in marketing or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related field with 18 graduate hours in marketing.
