Visiting Clinical Professor, Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic

Description

The University of Texas School of Law seeks to hire a visiting half-time clinical professor to teach in its Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic alongside the existing clinic director (Professor Frances Leos Martinez) and clinic faculty (Professor Heather Way).

The Professor will supervise student representation of clients and be responsible for meeting regularly with, mentoring, and advising the students. The Professor will have ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the clinic’s clients are adequately and professionally represented. In addition, the Professor will partner with the clinic faculty in all aspects of the clinic’s work, such as helping teach a weekly seminar component of the clinic, assisting with selection of clinic cases, and participating in activities of the clinical program.

Clinical faculty positions at Texas Law are nine-month appointments. This position is a visiting half-time clinical faculty appointment, with all accompanying health and other benefits. There may be an option for an additional part-time appointment during the summers as demanded by the clinic’s cases and projects. The position is non-tenure track, with an initial nine-month appointment that may be extended beyond the first year. The visiting professor will join a close community of over 25 clinical faculty members who teach in our clinical program.

The salary for this half-time position will be $62,000 - $80,000 for nine months, depending on experience (with an additional pro rata amount for any summer appointment).
