Job Summary
- Provide critical administrative support to AVP Civil Rights & Compliance Office (CRCO) and the CRCO Confidential Analyst/Public Records Access Officer. This includes answering/making/transferring phone calls, managing the AVP’s calendar, scheduling appoints and meetings for AVP & Confidential Analyst/PRA Officer, calendaring deadlines, monitoring departmental email accounts, and corresponding (via email) to members of the campus community and third parties.
- Assisting Confidential Analyst/PRA Officer with the tracking and processing of public records requests, subpoenas, and other legal requests. This will include logging requests into the request log spreadsheet, communicating with other Cal Poly departments/units to locate and obtain records, performing redactions of records, and the organizing, labeling, and filing of records.
- Aide in the research, analysis, and interpretation of relevant statutes related to public records requests, subpoenas, and civil discovery procedures.
- Assist with drafting responses to records requestors, assist with drafting other correspondence related to CRCO's legal support and compliance functions.
- Ability to use a variety of Microsoft Office Suite software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive) Adobe Acrobat, case management software, and other software programs to perform to essential functions of the position.
- Communicate with diplomacy and tact with various campus partners and campus leadership on behalf of the AVP and Confidential Analyst/PRA Officer.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or its equivalent. Four years of general office support or technical experience. (Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience)
Salary:
Anticipated Hiring Range: $23.06 - $25.37 per hour
Classification Range: $23.06 - $35.03 per hour
