Job Summary
The Senior Assistant Director for Fiscal Management manages the oversight of the fiscal management of Event Management, Dining and Hospitality business operations by providing direction in the development of comprehensive accounting systems, policies, and procedures and ensures compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The incumbent also manages the preparation of unit budgets and exercises control of expenditures for Event Management, Dining and Hospitality. Reviews Event Management, Dining and Hospitality financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to guidelines. This position leads a team responsible for all accounting, purchasing, internal control, and financial analysis and reporting functions in the department.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$5,750 - $6,310 per month
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, business administration, management or a field related to the position.
2. Five (5) years of professional level experience overseeing and managing complex accounting functions, four (4) of which must have included professional level experience managing/supervising staff.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, as well as strong communication and problem solving skills.
4. Demonstrated experience with auxiliary budgets with knowledge of finance and cost control principles.
5. Demonstrated proficiency with writing and editing reports and other materials that reflect an appreciation for the report audience.
6. Excellent oral and written communication, as well as organizational and time management skills.
7. Advanced Excel proficiency and experience working in other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Possession of a current registration as a Certified Public Accountant or a valid License to practice Public Accounting.
2. Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
3. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
4. Knowledge of automated data processing systems, including accounting software applications.
5. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, projections.
6. Demonstrated ability to prepare completed and accurate accounting reports.
7. Knowledge of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques.
Work Hours
Core hours: M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
