Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Biology department on the Gainesville campus. Student would work with helping prep labs for Environmental Science and Invertebrate Zoology. This includes maintaining/organizing specimens and updating written labs. Student will assist in processing samples from research on the Etowah River. Student may assist in grading labs for Environmental Science.
Responsibilities
- Curating specimens [cleaning, organization of shelves, refreshing jars of specimens, setting up/ breaking down labs twice a week. Helping rewrite labs so they are more student friendly. Perhaps correcting HW in Environmental Science.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Some knowledge of taxonomy and phyla of organisms [very basic, can be taught]. Some writing skills. Dependable.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
