Teaching Fellow (Creative Writing) x2

The School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures (SCAPVC) was established in August 2019 within the Faculty of Arts. SCAPVC comprises Film and Television Studies (FTV), the Warwick Writing Programme (WWP), Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS), Cultural and Media Policy Studies (CMPS), and History of Art (HoA).

The School wishes to appoint two part-time Teaching Fellows to work within the Warwick Writing Programme to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in creative writing. The appointees will join us from 1st September 2026 on fixed term (24 month) contracts. The posts are 0.5 FTE, working 18.25 hours per week.

The Warwick Writing Programme has a national and international reputation for research and teaching excellence. WWP is committed to contemporary and experimental narratives, including fiction, poetry, screenwriting, literary translation and spoken word. We foster excellent creative industry links and networks and have an international profile as a literary incubator, through the successes of our staff and alumni, and our involvement with the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation.

We are seeking candidates for the following roles:

• One Teaching Fellow (0.5 FTE) with expertise in poetry and additional expertise in at least one other genre, which may include fiction.
• One Teaching Fellow (0.5 FTE) with expertise in fiction and additional expertise in at least one other genre, which may include screenwriting.

Candidates should specify in their application which of the two roles they wish to be considered for.

The appointees will have experience of teaching creative writing as well as a PhD or significant publication record. These posts offer the opportunity to contribute to a friendly and dynamic programme while developing teaching practice within a supportive environment.
