Teaching Professor, School of Nursing
OVERVIEW
The Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing (SON) in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applicants for a 12-month teaching professor position. We seek applicants who are committed to teaching excellence, both within a traditional BSN and accelerated pre-licensure MSN program.
The appointment will begin in fall 2026, and the search committee welcomes applicants with expertise in teaching a range of nursing courses. Current needs prioritize subject matter expertise in pathophysiology, pharmacology, acute and chronic care, and health assessment. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a teaching load equivalent to instructing eight courses over 12 months, primarily undergrad courses and secondarily, the pre-licensure MSN program, with other job duties that include student advising and other service activities. We are seeking outstanding candidates who are dedicated to innovative and inclusive undergraduate teaching and contributing to the sense of community and support among students, staff, and faculty.

The college is comprised of several departments and schools, including the Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing, which was established in 2021. Salary Range: $77,000 to $90,000
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent). Alternatively, a candidate with an EdD, PhD in an area unrelated to Nursing is acceptable if the candidate holds a bachelor's or master/s degree (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Nursing.
- Must be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Minnesota.
- Evidence of at least two years teaching effectiveness in a higher education setting or as a clinical educator within an acute care setting.
- Minimum three years nursing practice experience
