Technical Associate I
TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, works in a dynamic and creative lab at the interface of computational and experimental research to help dissect the mechanisms underlying the genetics of cancer, neurodegenerative, neuropsychiatric, and immune diseases by refining and validating biological hypotheses to generate new datasets for computational analysis. Will develop a deep understanding of the project(s) to assist with experimental and project planning; and be responsible for the experimental execution of high-level research objectives and applying advanced research skills in broad areas of assignments and related fields under the supervision of the project coordinator, research scientists, and other researchers in the lab to plan projects, prioritize tasks, and achieve goals in a timely manner.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field; experience in performing molecular biology and next generation sequencing experiments; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to convey information to others in a concise manner and to ensure understanding; and knowledge of how to identify and select appropriate tools, data, and analysis techniques to diagnose problems and develop solutions.
Some evening/weekend work required depending on project deadlines and cell cultures.
