Technical Instructor
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), to join the largest department at MIT, with over 2,400 undergraduates and graduate students enrolled in its academic programs; under minimal supervision, assist students building course related projects using rapid prototyping machines and related activities emphasizing electronics; instruct students on safety procedures and operation of all lab equipment for an undergraduate teaching lab that serves hundreds of students every semester; prepare and provide in-class demonstrations in several electronics courses, per the instructors' requests. The EECS DTL has established a portfolio (including the components and equipment needed) of demos and will offer training to the hired person.

REQUIRED: Associate degree in a technical field and a minimum of five years of relevant hands-on educational or industrial experience or equivalent; enjoy teaching undergraduate students one-on-one; skills with electronics design, electronics fabrication, CAD, ECAD, embedded systems, machining, mechanical assemblies, rapid prototyping, and facility management; ability to handle confidential information and use discretion in handling complex teaching and personnel situations; and ability to communicate productively with a variety of different people in diverse settings.
This position is on campus full-time. This position will be conducted in EECS Department Teaching Laboratory (DTL) Engineering Design Studio.
