Technician B
Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Technician B with a BA/BS in biology or a related field. A highly motivated Technician B is being sought to join a research team that studies the broad chromosome alterations (aneuploidy) that contribute to oncogenesis. In addition to technical and scientific knowledge, this individual should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidates with a BA/BS degree and future plans to attend MD, Ph.D., or MD/Ph.D. programs after a period in the lab are strongly encouraged to apply, and career development to this end will be enthusiastically supported. Applicants should have proficiency in and substantial laboratory experience, with a particular emphasis on cell culture, genome engineering, and/or computational analysis. Experience in the area of aneuploidy is critical.
Responsibilities
- CRISPR/Cas9 and tissue culture work
- Chemical treatments in cell lines
- Proliferation and tumorigenic assays
- Molecular biology experiments
- Maintenance/stewardship of lab notebook and data
- Contribution to lab duties, specifically ordering of reagents
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques.
- One year of related experience.
Other Requirements
- BA/BS in biology or related discipline
- Extensive laboratory experience with molecular cloning and/or human cell culture
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative attitude
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
