Responsible for reliability of HVAC systems through effective and timely performance of quality maintenance and repair services. Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance on large commercial/industrial HVAC systems up to 500 tons.
Min Salary$44,993.26
Mid Salary$50,617.41 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.
Duties/Functions Education Required- High school diploma or GED Certificate plus 2 years industrial/commercial HVAC experience, OR Associate Degree in HVAC Installation/Maintenance from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution and 1 year industrial/commercial HVAC experience
- Possession of a Universal CFC Certificate
- Experience in basic maintenance and repair of large commercial/industrial air conditioning equipment, including centrifugal chillers, BAS controls and air handling units.
- Experience in basic maintenance and repair of hot water boilers.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, faculty, staff, students and the general public.
- Ability to understand blueprints, schematics/diagrams, and CAD drawings.
- Skill in the operation of passenger cars, light trucks and vans.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy bulky objects up to fifty pounds.
- Ability to work well independently and exercise sound judgment in prioritizing tasks in a changing environment.
- Participate in job related enrichment seminars, workshops, and attend in-service training.
- Required OSHA /Safety training matrix...
- Acceptable background checks required due to the nature of the job.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle including the possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license accompanied by an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to report to work during non-scheduled hours in the event of emergency call back, inclement weather events, etc.
- Ability to work evening and weekend work hours as determined by the college.
- Must be prepared to immediately serve as part of the emergency response team.
