Telecommunications Supervisor - Police

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Police Department welcomes applications for the position of Telecommunications Supervisor.

Salary Range: $42,500.00 depending on qualifications.

Essential Functions

Reporting directly to the Support Services Sergeant, this position provides strategic leadership and oversight of the University's Police Telecommunications Division. It involves supervising, assigning, training, and evaluating employees in public safety telecommunications; providing guidance on operational policies; scheduling and maintaining staffing levels; verifying emergency plans; inspecting communications systems; and preparing reports while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• One or more years as a telecommunicator or telecommunications manager
• Experience operating multi-channel radio system
• A working knowledge of CJIS/TLETS operations
• Have been issued a TCOLE PID Number

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or another related field
• Two plus years in management or supervision

Standard Working Conditions: Involves lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, crouching, and extended sitting or keyboard work.
