Job Summary:
This position provides accounting, financial, and business operations support within the Facilities Management Department at CU Denver | Anschutz. Planned areas of support include Bookstore, Post Office, Event Management System, Food Services, Denver Parking, Sustainability, Fleet Management, Space and Asset Inventory, and Gift Card Program. This position will assist or serve as backup for Utilities and Anschutz Parking. Areas of responsibility may be updated as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable
- Create purchase orders
- Review and submit assigned shopping carts
- Advise on appropriate procurement methods and obtain approvals based on thresholds and nature of goods & services
- Accounts receivable
- Book and reconcile AR
- Invoice customers
- Process checks and cash deposits and notify customers of outstanding payments
- Create journal entries
- Update monthly financial reports
- Assist with fiscal year-end processes
- Process safety boots and glasses reimbursement
- Assist the Accounting Manager and Team Lead with other accounting duties as needed
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week at CU Anschutz (Aurora, CO) and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or related field.
- Substitution: 4 years' experience in finance or accounting OR an associate's degree in a related field and 2 years' experience in finance or accounting.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel to develop, revise, and maintain spreadsheets and databases for reporting and tracking purposes.
- Knowledge of accounting standards including GAAP and FASB.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze financial transactions for propriety and escalate issues when needed.
- Detail oriented.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $25/hour.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
