Department Information
Within this setting, the Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology is a dynamic and growing unit of over 50 faculty and staff serving over 2,000 majors enrolled in a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. This position will fill teaching needs within the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Program.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Department Chair, the Part Time Instructor in Health Sciences position requires the individual to teach no more than two courses that may include Nutrition, Management of Health Information, Introduction to Health Sciences, and Health Communication.
Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online).
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Master's Degree in Health Science, Public Health, or a closely related field, by August 1, 2026 with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Nutrition, Health Information, Health Sciences, or Health Communication by August 1, 2026.
- Credentials to teach Introduction to Health Sciences, Health Communication, & Management of Health Information
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
- Ability and/or willingness to learn to teach in an online environment
- Ability to contribute to a positive work environment in the Department, College, and University
- Technological literacy and a commitment to integrate technology into teaching
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of online teaching in health sciences or a closely related field
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
