Temporary Faculty Position in Ceramics
Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.
The Department of Art & Design at Kutztown University invites applications for a temporary part-time position for Spring 2026 in Ceramics and related disciplines. Courses requiring coverage include undergraduate courses in ceramics, foundations, and related courses, including (but not limited to) Intro to Ceramics and Intro to 3D design. We seek applicants committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Art & Design and across the university. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service. Courses are taught face-to-face for Spring 2026.
Minimum Qualifications
- An earned MFA or terminal degree in Ceramics, Art, or related discipline is required at the time of application
- A strong professional portfolio of personal and student artwork
- College-level teaching experience of at least one year or equivalent in related coursework to be taught
- Successful interview and demonstration of relevant abilities required
Preferred Qualifications
- An MFA degree in Ceramics
- Experience managing ceramics facilities is preferred.
