Temporary Lecturer in Computer Science and Information Technology
Job Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Clayton State University invites applications for a temporary full-time lecturer in Computer Science and Information Technology to begin in Fall 2025. This faculty member in this position will teach wide varieties of undergraduate courses at all levels in computer science and information technology. The successful candidate will teach 15 credit hours each semester, participate in academic activities, be involved in student success and serve the university. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
The candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate courses at all levels offered by Department of Computer Science and Information Technology and participate in development of curriculum and new programs. The candidate will be expected to support the department, college, university, and community through services such as committees, special projects, and accreditation efforts. In addition to duties associated with teaching and service, the faculty member is also expected to participate in continuing professional development related to the discipline.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in computer science and/or information technology. The candidate must be enthusiastic about teaching a variety of courses of all levels in computer science and/or information technology with a diverse student body. This position requires the ability to manage a classroom and work with students. Experience in college-level teaching is desired, along with knowledge of mainstream technologies for teaching computing courses. The successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the United States at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to academic credentials, credentials in cybersecurity, AI, data science, and data analytics are preferred.
