Essential Job Duties:
The Innovation Studies Lab in the Department of Psychology at NCSU seeks a Temporary Research Assistant to support Social Network Analysis (SNA) activities for two USDA-funded research projects focused on low-moisture food safety and sustainable dairy systems. The position will support analysis of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and stakeholder engagement networks. Primary duties will include: preparing and managing relational/network datasets, conducting social network analyses (e.g., centrality, density, clustering), developing network visualizations and summaries of findings, assisting with interpretation and reporting of results, maintain organized documentation to support reproducibility, and collaboration with interdisciplinary research team members.
Minimum Experience/Education:
Master’s Degree or Higher
Department Required Skills:
Social Network Analysis skills, proficiency in relevant analytical software (e.g., Python, Gephi, Excel), data management and analysis skills, scientific writing skills, teamwork skills
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:
Experience applying SNA in research or evaluation settings, familiarity with agricultural, food systems, or public health research, strong data visualization and communication skills
