This position is a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology, beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to curricular design and assessment, teach undergraduate courses, advise and mentor undergraduate students, be team-oriented, develop a research program that emphasizes undergraduate mentorship, and foster an inclusive and equitable classroom and work environment. • Involvement in University committees as assigned by the Faculty Governance Structure, as well as service to the profession and the Biology department.
  • Use of best practices in curriculum development and assessment, including the implementation of student-centered and evidence-based teaching practices such as active learning or Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs).
  • Mentoring and advising a diverse population of students.
  • Regular, predictable attendance on campus.
  • Alignment with the University's mission, vision, and strategic roadmap.
  • Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A commitment to serving diverse, first-generation, non-traditional, and socio-economically challenged students.
  • A willingness to work individually and in groups to support success in matriculation and persistence in the program.

Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience, especially university-level research methods, is preferred.

How to apply:

  • Please upload a letter of interest, CV, teaching statement, research statement that includes mentoring undergraduates, unofficial transcripts, and contact information for 3 references.
