The prime intellectual mission of CCMB is to promote the development, implementation, and application of quantitative methods to foundational questions in the biological and medical sciences. The research programs of the core faculty in CCMB lie fundamentally at the intersection of computer science, evolutionary biology, mathematics, statistics, and molecular and cellular biology. 

The research challenges at the heart of CCMB are a rich source of mathematical and computational problems motivated by the complex nature of genomes, disease processes, and evolutionary relationships. These challenges are both multi-scale (with units of interest ranging from molecules to communities of organisms) and large-scale (data-intensive, in part due to advances in sequencing technologies). 

Brown University is located in Providence, RI, close to Narragansett Bay, an hour from Boston and about three hours from New York City. Providence has been consistently rated as among the Northeast's most livable cities and is home to diverse intellectual, artistic, and business communities.

Qualifications

This is a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank. Applications will only be considered at the Assistant Professor level.
