Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Developmental Psychology

Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Developmental Psychology

The Department of Psychology at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Developmental Psychology to begin in August 2026. This position is open to applicants with expertise in any area of developmental psychology. The successful candidate will maintain a cohesive and independent research program that meaningfully engages undergraduate students. In addition to the courses Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods, the ideal candidate will teach new or existing intermediate and advanced courses on developmental topics. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach Introduction to Psychology and additional courses that enhance our existing curriculum.

This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a research leave prior to tenure review of either a full year at 80% salary or a semester at full salary, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. To enable a smooth transition to Holy Cross, new full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors receive start-up funding to support their research and professional development and have a one-course reduction in their first year of teaching (i.e., 2-2). This position offers full benefits and a starting salary in the range of $101,850 to $103,850. Faculty at the College cultivate a richly diverse academic community, pursue innovative teaching, and create high-impact scholarship. To learn more about the Worcester area, candidates are invited to explore Worcester and beyond, as well as the Resources for Prospective Faculty on our Faculty Openings page. Academic and inclusive excellence are essential to our academic core. To learn more about these commitments, candidates are encouraged to review the College's strategic plan, Aspire.

Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate (1) excellence in scholarship in any area of developmental psychology, (2) excellence in undergraduate teaching, (3) innovative ideas for developing and refining courses relevant to this position, and (4) a commitment to inclusive pedagogies. A Ph.D. in developmental psychology or a related field is required by the beginning of the appointment.

Application Instructions
Please submit a cover letter addressing the position requirements listed in the 'Qualifications' section above, a current curriculum vitae, a statement on your teaching philosophy, practices, and experiences, a statement on your research, and three letters of recommendation. Additional materials may be requested at a later date.

In your cover letter and statements, in addition to describing the above-mentioned elements of research and teaching, please address how your scholarship, teaching, mentoring, and/or service might contribute to and further the College's mission as a Jesuit, undergraduate liberal arts college and its core commitment to creating a community where every individual feels empowered to contribute their talents and perspectives.

For full consideration, please apply by September 15, 2025. Initial interviews of selected applicants via Zoom will take place in late October, and campus visits for selected applicants will take place in November. Questions about this search may be directed to the chair of the search committee, Florencia Anggoro (fanggoro@holycross.edu).
