TES Maintenance Mechanic
Overview
Property Management is seeking a TES Maintenance Mechanic to assist with Residence Hall Maintenance. This position exceeds the expectations of a typical employee. It is distinguished by the responsibility for a wide variety of both routine and non-routine assignments across multiple areas. Due to the nature of the environment, an elevated level of professionalism and interpersonal skills are required.
BENEFITS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Compensation: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour for 20 - 40 hours of work per week
- Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (30-minute lunch)

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work
- Emergencies

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting heavy objects and equipment while performing job duties. Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Inspections of Residence Hall rooms
- Routine maintenance in Residence Halls including, but not limited to:
- Replacing Bulbs
- Replacing Ballasts
- Replacing Batteries
- Installing New fixtures
- Mini Blind Replacement
- Basic Plumbing Repairs
- Furniture Repairs/Replacement
- Window Repairs
- Additional items may be assigned.
Qualifications
AU student employees are not eligible for TES.
- High school diploma or equivalent
